The Meridian Cask Standard

Whisky is not made.
It is waited for.

We distil once a day, in two copper pot stills that have stood in this glen since 1895. The spirit goes into cask the same week it is distilled. What happens next is not our work — it is the work of time, oak, and the Highland air that breathes through our warehouses every day for a decade or more.

Copper Pot Stills

Both stills are original to the distillery — hand-beaten copper, maintained by the same family of still makers for four generations. Their shape determines the character of everything we produce.

02

Hand-Selected Casks

We buy casks directly from cooperages in Spain, Kentucky and the Scottish borders. Every cask is inspected before fill. We reject around one in five. The cask is half the whisky.

03

Cask Strength Bottling

We do not add water to hit a commercial ABV. Every bottle is filled at the strength it comes from the cask. You add water if you choose. We do not choose for you.

A distillery is a place where patience is the primary skill. Everything else is just plumbing.
